By Car
The Santa Barbara Wine Country Half Marathon takes place in the Santa Ynez Valley in Santa Barbara County. The towns of Buellton, Solvang, Santa Ynez and Los Olivos are all within 3 accessible from Highway 101 or Highway 154 over San Marcos pass from the city of Santa Barbara.
Driving times vary depending upon traffic conditions and exact destination points, but allow between 50 minutes to one hour of driving time to Solvang or Santa Ynez from downtown Santa Barbara. From the north on Hwy 101, the closest towns are Santa Maria (30 min), Pismo Beach (50 min) and San Luis Obispo (1 hour). Lompoc is located 15 miles to the west.
By Air
Santa Barbara Airport (SBA) is serviced by five different airlines (Alaska, American, Frontier, United, US Air) with no-stops from five western cities; see SBA airline schedule. Santa Maria and San Luis Obispo both have regional airports. From the south you can fly into Burbank or Los Angeles airports and take Hwy 101 into Santa Barbara.
By Rail
