Race Information:

Transportation / Parking

This is a point-to-point course starting in Santa Ynez and finishing in Solvang. The transition area for the 2-person relay is in Los Olivos. Transportation is provided from two locations to the start area.

Parking is not allowed along the race course. We recommend parking in either Solvang or Santa Ynez. Parking is available behind the Royal Scandinavian Inn and at designated public parking lots in Solvang. Parking and transportation is also available at Santa Ynez Valley High School located a mile from the start area. A parking lot map will be provided at the expo or download below:

Transportation will also be provided from the start area to the 2-person relay transition area in Los Olivos and from Los Olivos to the finish area. After the race, transportation will be provided from the finish area to Santa Ynez Valley High School and downtown Santa Ynez until 12:30pm from Solvang Park and later from the Royal Scandinavian to Chumash Casino.

SOLVANG

There are parking public lots or streets in Solvang and there is a large grass/dirt parking area behind the Royal Scandinavian Inn at 400 Alisal Rd. Transportation is provided to the start area from Solvang Park on Mission and First St. which is near the finish area. Buses leave here from 5:15am to 6:30am every 10 minutes. Please arrive as early as possible to avoid delays.

SANTA YNEZ

Parking is available at Santa Ynez Valley High School and on most streets in Santa Ynez. Buses will depart from the high school every 10 minutes from 5:30 to 6:30am. Parking will not be permitted on Sagunto St. near the start area. Please be respectful of no parking signs, private property and noise ordinaces. After the race, transportation will be provided from Solvang Park back to Santa Ynez Valley High and Maverick's on Sagunto St. and some buses will service nearby Chumash Casino from The Royal Scandinavian Inn.

RELAY PARKING & TRANSPORTATION

If you are entered as a 2-person team transportation will be provided to and from the relay area. Buses will leave after the start to the transition area and two buses will also return from the relay transition to the finish. Or you can drop a runner at the start, park in Los Olivos and arrange for your partner to get your keys at the transition.

Parking

SOLVANG: Four public parking lots are available in SOLVANG and behind the Royal Scandinavian Hotel and the large field behind RSI accessible by Alisal Mesa Road. Transportation is provided from Solvang Park to the start area (see above).
* Parking is NOT available on race day in LOT 2 next to Solvang Park.

SANTA YNEZ VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL 2975 East Hwy 246 (1 mile from start)
Transportation is provided to start (see above)

DROP AREA: You may drop runners at the corner of Madera and Faraday in downtown Santa Ynez and park in nearby designated spaces. Do not park near the start area at Maverick Saloon on Sagunto and Meadowvale. For buses only!

Designated Viewing Areas

  1. Race Sart on Sagunto St. in Santa Ynez
  2. 5.8 mile mark and relay transition at Grand Ave. and Alamo Pintado in Los Olivos
  3. Race Finish along Copenhagen Dr. in Solvang

No vehicles or spectator viewing in Ballard Canyon. You may park in downtown Los Olivos and walk up Steele Rd. to Corkscrew Hill.
