Hesch, Marley take home the wine!

The 2011 Santa Barbara Wine Country Half Marathon proved to be a competitive and festive affair.

The fifth running of the Santa Barbara Wine Country Half Marathon proved to be a competitive and festive affair.  A strong field of elite runners was lead by Christian Hesch and Tiffany Marley, who claimed first place and took home a 3L bottle of wine, a Ball Watch, and cash.  Hesch set the pace throughout the race, defeating second place finisher Bryant Jensen from Ogden, Utah and Mark Batres of Rowland Heights, California.  Tiffany Marley (Lake Huges, CA) held off masters champion Susan Loken (Phoenix, AZ) to win her second Wine Country Half Marathon. At the completion of the race, participants were treated to a wine and music festival in Solvang Park.
