National Tourette Syndrome Association — TEAM TSA
Tourette Syndrome (TS) is an inherited neurobiological disorder whose cause is not yet fully understood has no known cure. It is characterized by involuntary sudden movements and vocalizations, known as tics, that occur repeatedly. It is estimated that one person out of every 100 has a mild form of Tourette Syndrome and one out of every 1,000 has a severe case. The national Tourette Syndrome Association is the only national voluntary membership organization in its field. Our mission is to identify the cause of, find the cure for, and control the effects of Tourette Syndrome. TSA does this by funding a cutting edge world-wide research program. In addition, TSA helps provide educational programs, awareness activities and services for people living with TS and their families. We offer resources and referrals to help people and their families cope with the problems that occur with TS and raise public awareness and counter media stereotypes.
TSA is the national beneficiary of the Santa Barbara Wine Country Half Marathon. When you join TEAM TSA you benefit more than just your own health, you help us get “One Lap Closer To A Cure!” Sign up to raise funds for TEAM TSA and be our guest at the Santa Barbara Wine Country Half Marathon. We have 200 entries reserved for TEAM TSA! TSA’s official headquarters is Hotel Corque in Solvang, site of the expo! Join TEAM TSA today!
Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation
— Endurance Events Program
Multiple myeloma is an incurable blood cancer. Although progress has been made in treating multiple myeloma, the five-year relative survival rate remains one of the lowest of all cancers. The mission of the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF) is to relentlessly pursue innovative means that accelerate the development of next-generation multiple myeloma treatments to extend the lives of patients and lead to a cure.
You have the power to fulfill a dream and make the difference. By participating in the Santa Barbara Wine Country Half Marathon, you have a wonderful opportunity to not only honor friends and loved ones with multiple myeloma, but to raise funds to support the MMRF in its mission to bring patients new treatments and find a cure for multiple myeloma.
The power of one becomes the power of many when you take on an event, take on multiple myeloma, and tap into the strength of your friends and family to support you.
The MMRF is the world’s number-one private funder of myeloma research. An outstanding 93% of all funds raised go directly to myeloma research.

Pancreatica Walks and Runs is an initiative of the non-profit Lorenzen Cancer Foundation aimed at forever changing the tragic relationship between human beings and pancreatic cancer. Our group is dedicated to raising awareness and funds, increasing education and supporting pancreatic cancer research. Pancreatic cancer is the least funded cancer in terms of research. Despite causing enormous mortality, pancreatic cancer receives much less funding for research than the other major cancers.
As a participant in Pancreatica Walks and Runs you can help in the fight against pancreatic cancer – you will also receive great fundraising tips, training plans, coaching options and when the required minimum dollar amount is raised, reimbursement of your race entry fee, related travel expenses, prizes and more!
