Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation - Endurance Events Program

MMRF Logo

Join the MMRF PowerTeam and support the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF), recognized as one of the most significant innovators in cancer research. Founder Kathy Giusti was just named one of Time Magazine's 100 Most Influential People in the World, recognition for her leadership and the MMRF's transformational way of developing and conducting medical research and drug development.

The work of the MMRF is dramatically improving the outlook for patients with multiple myeloma.  Since its inception 14 years ago, the life span of a myeloma patient has more than doubled.  The treatments being developed with funds from the MMRF are now being explored as treatment for 30 other cancers.   The MMRF directs an exemplary 90% of funds raised to research and related programming, consistently earning the foundation ranking in the top 1% of all charities by  the nation's leading charity evaluators, like Charity Navigator.

The Michael J. Fox Foundation - Team Fox

Team Fox LogoOver 5 million people worldwide live with Parkinson's disease, a progressive, neurodegenerative disorder whose cause is currently not known. The Michael J. Fox Foundation was founded in 2000 with one goal — to accelerate the delivery of life-changing treatments, and ultimately a cure, to people with Parkinson's disease. Today MJFF is the largest private funder of Parkinson's research in the world, with over $170 million in scientific investment to date.

Team Fox, the Foundation's grassroots community fundraising arm, is made up of thousands of people who find fun and creative ways to raise funds and awareness for MJFF and Parkinson's research. The Run Like a Fox program supports athletes all over the world in their goals of taking on physical and philanthropic challenges on behalf of the Foundation. Raising millions of dollars each year, the incredible community of Team Fox members continues to grow and exceed our expectations every day.

Join our team in the race for a cure. To learn more about Team Fox visit www.teamfox.org. To join Team Fox for the Santa Barbara Wine Country Half Marathon visit www.teamfox.org/santabarbarahalf or email teamfox@michaeljfox.org or call 212-509-0995 . We have entries reserved!

National Tourette Syndrome Association — TEAM TSANat'l Tourette Syndrome Assoc

Tourette Syndrome (TS) is an inherited neurobiological disorder whose cause is not yet fully understood and has no known cure. It is characterized by involuntary sudden movements and vocalizations, known as tics, that occur repeatedly. It is estimated that one person out of every 100 has a mild form of Tourette Syndrome and one out of every 1,000 has a severe case.

The national Tourette Syndrome Association is the only national voluntary membership organization in its field. Our mission is to identify the cause of, find the cure for, and control the effects of Tourette Syndrome. TSA does this by funding a cutting edge world-wide research program. In addition, TSA helps provide educational programs, awareness activities and services for people living with TS and their families. We offer resources and referrals to help people and their families cope with the problems that occur with TS and raise public awareness and counter media stereotypes.

TSA is the national beneficiary of the Santa Barbara Wine Country Half Marathon. When you join TEAM TSA you benefit more than just your own health, you help us get "One Lap Closer To A Cure!"  Join TEAM TSA and participate in the Santa Barbara Wine Country Half Marathon!  Join TEAM TSA today!

For more information on Tourette Syndrome Association and TSA visit the TEAM TSA website.  If you'd like to support the cause by volunteering for the event please email michelle.staley@tsa-usa.org.

Pancreatica Walks and Runs

Pancreatica Walks and Runs is an initiative of the non-profit Cancer Patients Alliance aimed at forever changing the tragic relationship between human beings and pancreatic cancer. Our group is dedicated to raising awareness and funds, increasing education and supporting pancreatic cancer research. Pancreatic cancer is the least funded cancer in terms of research. Despite causing enormous mortality, pancreatic cancer receives much less funding for research than the other major cancers.

As a participant in Pancreatica Walks and Runs you can help in the fight against pancreatic cancer - you will also receive great fundraising tips and tools, training plans, team apparel, prizes and more!

Please call 1-855-WALK-RUN (1-855-925-5786 ) or e-mail us at Participate@ToFightCancer.com for more information.
