Welcome to Wine Country! Experience the beauty of the Santa Ynez Valley as you pass through vineyards, lavender farms, fruit orchards and horse ranches on your way to the finish on Copenhagen Drive in the Danish village of Solvang.
Your journey begins in the old west at Maverick Saloon in Santa Ynez. You'll then pass through the quaint town of Los Olivos at the mid-point of the course before running down scenic Ballard Canyon into Solvang.
We offer one of the BEST FINISH areas of any race where you can relax while you recover, then celebrate in style with family, friends and colleagues at the Wine & Music Festival in Solvang Park! Sample wines from the top vintners in the Santa Ynez Valley while you enjoy the post-race festival.

The race has moved to Saturday to allow visitors to indulge in the post-race activities guilt-free and provide an extra day to visit the attractions of the area. Sunday is Mothers Day so we encourage you to bring mom for the weekend or day, run with her, or dedicate your run to her, and millions of other mothers. We have a special award to the top mother and sibling relay team and you can also raise funds for the prevention of Breast Cancer. Go to Beneficiaries for more information on how to sign up.
The race is expected to sell out this year. If you are coming from out of the area be advised that rooms fill up fast in the Santa Ynez Valley and Santa Barbara for that weekend so make your reservations early. How many races can boast a five-star resort as their host hotel? If you plan to stay in Santa Barbara, the Four Seasons Resort, The Biltmore, is an elegant Spanish colonial style beach front hotel and spa currently offering a fabulous rate for race participants. If you prefer to stay in Santa Ynez Valley near the finish area, the Hadsten House in Solvang offers first-class amenities including a spa, restaurant, luxurious beds and daily wine-tasting. View Travel & Lodging for participating hotels.
Friday's pasta dinner will be held at Zaza Mesa Winery along Foxen Canyon Rd. in one of the most beautiful settings in the Santa Ynez Valley. This rustic and elegant winery is one of the valley's oldest, specializing in 100% estate bottled Rhone varietals. This fabulous dinner is catered by our favorite gourmet and specialty foods grocer and restaurant, the Los Olivos Grocery. Speaking at the dinner are the husband-wife team of Coach Jenny Hadfield and John "the Penguin" Bingham, who have authored running books and write national health and running columns. Don't miss this opportunity as tickets are limited and will sell out. Sign up here for dinner.
